Busy Bees was established in September 1994, with the present owners Janet Duddridge and Alison Stickland taking over ownership in October 2006. We aim to provide a happy, safe and fun environment for pre-school children to explore, develop and learn through their play activities.
The nursery is situated in Chawton Park Road, opposite Chawton Park Surgery and Community Hospital. Although we are ideally situated for the Butts end of Alton, we welcome children from all over the town and outlying villages regardless of where they may eventually attend school.
We have the benefit of a light and airy single-storey building with a large garden including large grassed area and patio. We try to make the best use of our garden and the children can go outside and play whatever the weather!
At Busy Bees we firmly believe that each child is a unique individual and this is reflected in the way we plan our activities to follow their interests and ensure that they progress whilst they are with us. We also believe that the work we do at Busy Bees is much more effective if we can work in partnership with you. We have half-termly newsletters with key dates and information, home-link folders, concerts and a sports day in an effort to involve the wider family and promote our shared partnership with you. As well as this website we also have a Facebook page giving updates on activities or events.
In our most recent Ofsted report, (December 2015) we received an overall outcome of ‘Good’ in all areas, We are particularly proud that the inspector has commented that “Children are motivated, active learners who are eager to participate in activities. They make good progress in their learning and development and are ready for the next stage in their education” (Ofsted, Dec 2015).
